Sir James Bond

Sir James Bond, from the 1967 Casino Royale, is the celbate and serious spy (played by David Niven) trying to give the Secret Service back some of its dignity. The drink version is a similarly refined creation.

This is one of seven Martinis I invented after being inspired by the seven James Bonds at the heart of the 1967 Casino Royale.

To make a SIR JAMES BOND

Add 60ml of gin to a cocktail shaker with a Lapsang Souchong teabag (Sir James's favourite beverage). Muddle for a minute or so or allow to infuse for longer. Adjust to taste.

Remove teabag, add 20ml lemon juice and 10ml honey (Sir James is a fan of Royal Jelly which isn't suitable for a cocktail but honey is the next best thing). Stir vigorously until honey is dissolved.

Add ice and shake.

Strain and serve in a Martini glass before playing some Debussy.
